Tocororo Libre

Tocororo Libre has passed away. He was just 33 years old. He was a great dad, a loving husband and son, a funny brother, a caring uncle. He was also opinionated, as many who knew his blog, Spanglish a lo Cubano, will agree. We'll miss him.

AC,
Please give all the family and friend our deepest and most sinceres condolences....
I was in the hospital, and I broke down with the news... Plese e-mail me privately at cb@killcastro.com.
We have published humble homages to him in both KillCastro and the Black Sheep of Exile. The homage in the Black Sheep of Exile contains music, so maybe you don't want to show it to immediate family members, but that is what Tocororo was always talking about, one of his biggest loves was music.

Hello, my name is Jose Reyes and I have a website (Cubanology.com). I would like to express my deepest condolences to Hugo's immediate family and to all his closest friends. I also have a permanent picture of his Blog on 3 locations of my website. I'm totally stunned now that I realized who he was. I was driving home with my wife on the 4th of July, when we heard the news of a man from Union City had died saving his son from drowning. Well, I said to my wife, "wow unbelievable, its so sad and he's from Union City, I wonder if he is Cuban but probably not, there's not so many Cubans left in Union City anymore" My brother called me about 5 minutes after on my cell and I told him also, unbelievable! Anyway, I'm totally shocked I just read this right now and I'm posting this message to you right now also. I'm going to post the link to the story with his picture so people can learn more about him and what a great man he was. Jose http://cubanology.com

Thank you, Jose. I'll pass your sentiments on to the family. And I'm saving all articles/comments for the children later on. They'll want to know more about their dad since I doubt the girls, especially, will remember much of him.

AC, I´m an American blogging for a free Cuba and that is how I came to know Tocororo Libre. His writing, and his personal emails to me were always an inspiration. He was greatly loved, and will be sorely missed. As happens online, I didn´t know him well, and at the same time sometimes felt as though he were family. This is my humble tribute to him. http://blogforcuba.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/07/ive-heard-tocor.html

My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who loved him. Ziva Sahl, BlogforCuba

At the years end, I´ve thought often of your brother in law, Toco. I know I´m not the only one of his former ¨fellow bloggers¨ who greatly misses him. Once again, all my sympathy and regards to his family and loved ones. Ziva
